Intelligent CIO interview with Charles Souillard

Mark: What would you describe as your most memorable achievement?

Charles: The enduring culture that we have created at Bonitasoft.

Mark: What first made you think of a career in technology?

Charles: I had no idea when I was younger of what I wanted to do!

Mark: What style of management philosophy do you employ with your current position?

Charles: Individuals now have more decision power, more responsibility and more accountability.

Mark: What do you think is the current hot technology talking point?

Charles: I expect PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) business to be challenged by private-cloud deployments. Organizations will begin to re-evaluate their choices for using PaaS.

Mark: How do you deal with stress and unwind outside the office?

Charles: Running and walking in the mountains is great for clearing the mind.

Mark: If you could go back and change one career decision, what would it be?

Charles:  It would definitely be to better define our target market earlier!

Mark: What do you currently identify as the major areas of investment in your industry?

Charles: We are working on ways to ease the PaaS move from cloud to modern on-prem, including the use of container-based technologies and managed services for business process application development, deployment and maintenance.

Mark: What are the region-specific challenges when implementing new technologies in North America?

Charles: There is some reluctance among American companies to look to ‘foreign’ expertise for best solutions.

Mark: What changes to your job role have you seen in the last year and how do you see these developing in the next 12 months?

Charles: An important part of my job is to be sure that we continue to develop and grow talent – with a strong positive corporate culture.

Mark: What advice would you offer somebody aspiring to obtain a C-level position in your industry?

Charles: People skills matter. Be sure to communicate on the why of all business aspects.

Aucun projet d'infrastructure, aucun sprint IT dédié.
