Coreso (COoRdination of Electricity System Operators) in Brussels, Belgium was selected today as a winner of a 2016 WfMC Global Award for Excellence in Business Process Management.

Coreso’s ability to compile data for critical international energy flow monitoring and prediction has dropped from hours to minutes thanks to their implementation of a business process management solution.

Coreso is responsible for coordinating services for electricity transmission for over 40% of the European Union. It helps assure supply by providing an overview of electricity flows at regional levels to complement national data. “If we are not able to provide necessary data, this can result in a decoupling on the European energy market with an enormous financial impact,” said Erik Wolfs, IT Director at Coreso. The old data collection and reporting processes required a lot of manual work.

With transformed processes using Bonitasoft’s Bonita BPM, Coreso engineers are now able to compile data faster, and re-run reports with new data as weather, environmental, and other changes occur. Prior to implementing a BPM solution, data collection took hours. Now it can be completed in about 20 minutes.

"Coreso’s success with a BPM platform clearly shows that digital transformation can and does improve critical business applications. Aprico and Coreso are at the forefront of a growing trend, and they deserve this recognition for their achievement, said Miguel Valdes Faura, CEO of Bonitasoft.

Awards Director Layna Fischer adds, “We received an amazingly high record number of nominations for the WfMC Global Award for Excellence in Business Process Management this year. The submissions were assessed by a panel of 27 judges using 15 distinct evaluation factors within the criteria of Innovation, Implementation and Impact. The scores within the top 20 were extremely close and the judges deliberated a long time on the final selections. Only 12 winners were selected globally.”

Aprico Consultants, a Belgian consultancy group that specializes in the transformation and architecture of Information Systems, developed the digital transformation solution with Coreso’s IT team.

Aucun projet d'infrastructure, aucun sprint IT dédié.
